CBT focuses on the relationship between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors and how this is driven by the perspective we have of our environment. It is a highly structured, evidenced based treatment modality that can provide fast and effective relief. CBT is focused on the here and now and utilizes mindfulness practice to help us tolerate distressing emotions. CBT can be short term (12 sessions), Long Term or anywhere in between.

Mindfulness practice works in harmony with CBT.  There are many different types of mindfulness exercises such as guided meditation, deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation and more.  In therapy we can incorporate mindfulness techniques as a tool help to you feel centered. I believe that this is a crucial part of personal and interpersonal effectiveness. When we meet, we will discuss what may be the best treatment plan for you.
